ASU Branch Executive Councillors Andy White and Judy Scott, representing ASU Local Government Members, accompanied by Wayne Wood and Jill Hugo and met on Wednesday, 28 August 2019 with Local Government Minister David Templeman MLA.

Members' concerns were raised with the Minister about changes to the Local Government Act that would see some front line LG workers' personal details, including home addresses, being made publicly available on council websites.

After hearing the concerns about privacy and personal safety, the Minister agreed that steps will be taken to ensure the changes to the LG Act would not result in Local Government Officers' private details being published. He also reassured ASU Representatives that this was never the intention of the changes.
