Our union recommends ASU Heath and Safety Representatives (HSRs) are trained by Unity Training Services.

Once elected, Health and Safety Reps (HSRs) have a choice in where they receive their HSR Training. This means that if your employer wants you to attend their preferred training organisation, they can’t force you, and it is ultimately your choice.

Once requested, an employer is required to facilitate your attendance at a training course, within 3 months.

Your employer pays for the training course as well as any reasonable expenses for attending, like parking fees.
