The ASU forum on Friday, 14th March introduced the Community Service - What's it Worth? campaign to a cross section of members, delegates and potential members. As part of the forum a Campaign Committee was formed and resolutions passed. The resolutions will empower the Campaign Committee to make decisions on the running of the campaign, especially with regard to the issues most important to SACS workers and the publicity surrounding the campaign.
Paul Burlinson, ASU Branch Secretary, spoke on "Award Modernisation" and the Industrial Relations policy of the Rudd Labor Government that will come fully into effect in 2010. Pat Branson, Senior Organiser with the ASU, spoke on how to take the campaign forward, encouraging everyone to get involved. Helen Creed, Fair Employment Advocate, inspired us with comparisons to other successful campaigns that she has been involved in.
